Hear from two practicing attorneys out of two different Federal Agencies about the ins and outs of applying for and landing jobs within the government. Our speakers will provide invaluable insight into how they went about their job search both in terms of where they found the job posting and what to look for with respect to different types of positions and levels.
Sam Wice is a special counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission. His practice focuses on approving rule filings of self-regulatory organizations. Previously, he was a council member of the ABA’s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice and an assistant analyst at the Congressional Budget Office.
Chris Fortier is an attorney-advisor with the Social Security Administration’s Office of Hearings Operations in Falls Church, Virginia. He works for the Chief Administrative Law Judge supporting the national hearing operation. Before coming to Northern Virginia, he was at the Charlottesville hearing office and the National Hearing Center. He has served in various capacities for the ABA Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice and Young Lawyers Division as well as the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference.
